Been here one month. We continue to try and see all we can see. Today I went to the gym in the morning all by myself which was really nice. My knees ate sore my good knee is totally cracking too much running and downhill hikes. I rode the spin bike at the gym trying to set a Saturday morning routine like in CA. 
We are now at the playground. Nice playground with a water feature and ocean breeze. Stephen is paragliding so we call this the paragliding playground.
The kids are having lots of fun on the spinner not sure when the water feature is going to turn on. 
The little things that are different here milk tastes different there ate not many types of cheese. I have been getting the soft cheese wedges they are okay. Chicken smells different like bad but not.  I have been eating tofu which I really like. Carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes are easy to find at the outdoor market. Rice paper wraps are rally good if I can learn to get the paper soft enough.
I am trying to stay fit but it is harder than I thought. I am doing the bar method at home and occasional running and gym visits.  I am thinking of ordering another workout video to do at home. I am also going to order some bars they are one thing I can't find a substitute for.

First Three Weeks in Okpo, South Korea

Living in Okpo South Korea
We have been here for three weeks now.  Here are some of my initial impressions:
The city is dirty trash on the street, many sketchy bars and massage places and the air is very stale.
Not so great, however I have explored more and there are many other things the city and the surrounding area has to offer. There are many wonderful restaurants, the open market has great fresh and local produce, fish and meat. Not too far out of town there are many wonderful beaches. I like to go to the south side of the island I feel like the water is cleaner.
When we go out to the countryside or mountains, the air is cleaner there are many places to hike. Some regions offer, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and there are also atvs for rent. As a family we have rented kayaks the sailing club is about 20 minutes outside of the city. We have gone on many hot and humid yet beautiful hikes. Stephen has a several great paragliding trips and we have found many playgrounds some with water features for the kids. Some of the playgrounds have lots of trash but for the most part they are nice.

Looking back on my three weeks here it has gone by rather fast however the days are slow and sometimes lonely. I am anxious for the kids to start school and for some of the ex-pats to return from their summer holiday.

We will be visiting a waterpark/spa mid-week. The  photos look nice so hopefully it will be a good time.

Monday MLK day.  Great hike today in Danville. Stephen and I had they day together the kids went to school. It was really nice to get outside fro some fresh air. After our hike we enjoyed a nice quiet kid free lunch at Maria Maria in Walnut Creek. We then headed to the Shane Company where I upgraded my engagement/wedding ring to a new three stone diamond ring. I love it!  Can't wait to where it. I can pick it up on Thursday. Wednesday I head into get my physical for our fast approaching move to South Korea. I will have a some blood drawn and basic screenings. I will need to take the day off as the appointment is in the mid morning. We may head up to Truckee this weekend, it has been predicted to have a huge snowstorm this week, we will see. Thus far this winter has been quit dry we sure do need the rain.


Tomorrow it is back to work. Lunches packed clothes laid out alarm set. I think I am good to go. I am trying out new kids lunches this week try to add some fun to the lunch boxes. We'll see how it goes.

Sunday January 15th hmm what;s on my mind today how I and organize my life into little boxes and still feel I am home. Good weekend for exercising my body working on my mind and keeping myself focussed. I've using the new site "pinterest" it's a great way to organize my thoughts and keep ideas for my life. What my life is and what I am working towards. LOVE it!

started the day off getting up before the rest of family I like that best it gives me a jump on things. things on my mind cleaning house collecting the things I wish to take to Korea wondering what lies ahead in the upcoming year. Excitement and anticipation are part of thoughts each day. Trying to juggle my career, family and sense of self and wellness are what I do. I wanted to start a blog to see what others like me do to get things done. Philosophy, ideals keeping it all in check in this fast paced world. Grounded in family and being together.
